Eligibility Criteria

 

Following is the eligibility criteria for funding from the Dr. Hildegard H. Balin Charitable Trust.  Please review before completing the Grant Application.

 

1.      Review the Dr. Hildegard H. Balin Trust’s purpose and geographical area to determine if your charitable activity is within these guidelines.  

 

2.      Applicants must have received tax exempt status as stated in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  One photocopy of your tax exempt letter must be included with your grant proposal.  Proof of tax exempt status is your responsibility.  If you submit proposal requests over a period of years, one copy of your tax exempt letter must be sent each year with your grant proposal.  

 

3.      Complete the Grant Application entirely.  Please read the Grant Application Instruction page before completing the Grant ApplicationDo not exceed the space requirements for your answers on the Grant Application.      

 

4.      No personal appearances before the Trust’s Advisory Committee are allowed.  During the grant proposal review process, member(s) of the Trust Advisory Committee may contact your organization for additional information, if such contact is felt to be necessary and helpful in reviewing your proposal.  

 

5.      No receipt, or acknowledgement of receipt of your grant proposal will be sent to you.  If you desire a receipt, submit your proposal by United States mail, certified-return-receipt, or a similar service that will provide a receipt.  

 

6.     When the determination process has been completed, all applicants will be advised by letter, as to the outcome of their proposal requests.  

 

7.      Grant award recipients will be required to submit an accounting of how the grant award has been expended.  Subsequent year grant applications will not be considered unless the prior year’s accounting has been received.

 

Grant proposals for the Dr. Hildegard H. Balin Trust distribution will be accepted each year during the months of June and July, but must be postmarked no later than July 31.
